Final Sound Decisions

We decided to use the non-diegetic music at the start to build up the tension, this is so the audience are immediately attached to the film, instead of having it straight into dialogue where it can look quite tacky. We have implemented this sound effect for about 1 minute while the good guy is finding his way to the destination, the diegetic sound where they have their conversation then occurs under the tunnel. This music suits the genre as it feels like it is going to build up into a climax as if something will happen and it keeps you on your toes all the time just like an action movie should have.
This has helped us organise the sound really well, as we know what parts go where in our film and when to put the certain audio in for the right shots, as we know when they start talking we then turned the tense music down so the audience could tune in and listen to what they are saying.
The second half of the film, we added a very big bass sound tune to it, making it sound more dramatic and tense as it got to the final scene. The final piece of sound that was implemented was actually very short and meant for the opening institutional logo, this was to set the scene and get the audience immediately on the edge of the seat knowing what genre is to come.
To choose our sound, we went on incompetech.com to find the royalty free music and sound effects, this was to ensure the sound wasn't copyrighted and had the right type of genre that would suit our film.
