To attract our audience we have
considered as a group to do this:
- Beginning with an establishing shot
- Inform the audience the time and place
- Followed by a long shot
- Medium shot
- Close up
- Then establish main characters
This will attract our audience because they will establish the setting for them and understand where it is. The more shots we use at the start the more clear it can become to them, therefore attracting them to watch more. If we only used 1 or 2 shots to create the atmosphere and immediately bring action in, they may not have an understanding of what is going, which would lead to them getting bored and probably not wanting to watch anymore.
What we will do get our audience attracted is to establish different parts of the setting by creating different perspectives of where the location of our film is, this can look quite appealing and beautiful making the audience attracted. We would then implement the main character towards the start, so the audience get a feel of who is important in the film and can follow him. We are then going to add a scenario/tension that has something to do with the first character appeared on screen, to create a mystery for the audience in order for them to be eyes glued to the screen, waiting to see what happens next. By doing this we were thinking to make the main character get a text from a mysterious number that contains quite cruel content, and it's his journey of getting there. Doing this we would build up tension and quite intense music to set the mood for the audience.
This will help us when creating our film as the decisions we have made with regards to how we want to open our film, will give us a structure to what we need to implement first and last. This can also help us when editing the clip, as we will know what parts we can edit first and what order they will go in.
