For this task we need to look at what is important to include in our film opening in order to develop the narrative and make it make sense towards this genre which is action. This task will help us begin to organise what we need to get for our film opening and how we can fit it in with the story.
For costume ideas we are considering on using smart casual costumes. For Pete we want him to wear a suit with jeans to make him look smart but casual as he represents an everyday working person. Sebastian would wear a suit too but he would wear matching trousers instead of jeans because we want him to look more in power compared to Pete as he has higher authority in this situation. We want the guard to be wearing a balaclava as we want to hide his face because he isn't an important character. It makes Sebastian's gang look more like criminals and appear more threatening as well because you can't see his face.
Props
For prop ideas we are considering using weapons, cars and updated technology as this is often used in action films. We could have the guard holding a gun to make him look more threatening and we could use it for a fight scene. We want to use a nice car for Sebastian to arrive in to make him appear even more influential. Also it is often that cars are used in action films as we found out in our research that the genre can involve a lot of car chases. We definitely know we want to use some sort of technology in our piece to give reference to the sort of time the story is set which is present day. To do this we will probably use an iPhone for a way of Sebastian and Pete to communicate between each other before they meet.
Lighting
Throughout most of our piece we want to use natural lighting because we believe this is the best way to make the situation look more realistic. If we need to film at night then we would use high key lighting when there is action going on or in a scene that is important for the audience to see clearly. I have an idea of when the car pulls up to use no lighting on the surroundings and have the bright lights from the car shine into his eyes to make Sebastian's entrance more effective.
Location
The sort of locations we would like to use are in a city like area. We were considering to film in London but it would be difficult to travel to and from there when we need to get footage so we have been looking for more local locations. We just want the area to look city-like as that will help the film opening look more like an action film. We could still do an establishing shot of London to make the film opening look more like it was set there.

Conclusion
This task has helped us organise what we need to do to develop our narrative and what to add to our piece to help it make sense. Now we need to start getting the props, costumes and equipment we need and fit it in with the narrative.
